Girls Rock Camp Victoria (GRCVI) is pleased to have successfully completed its fourth year of camp programming this past July. Over the course of five days, 21 campers got to play an instrument; become knowledgeable about technical gear and band dynamics; develop life skills and confidence; made new friends; and had a rockin’ week being in a band!

Daily workshops featured: song writing with Natalie of Sugar Castle; body movement with Dyana of Broken Rhythms Victoria; body positivity with Emily of Girl Gang Vancouver Island; and Victoria Poet Laureate, Yvonne Blomer and Victoria Youth Poet Laureate, Maita Cienska.

During our week of camp programming, we enjoyed live music during lunchtime from a number of local musicians including: Sugar Castle, Vic Horvath, Sam Wells, and Hurtin’

We are so grateful to have a great team of volunteers who are willing to share their time, energy and skills during and leading up to camp! A huge thank you to: Ashley, Astrid, Beth, Caitlin, Jay, Jenny, Jessica, Julie, Kate, Lauren, Leigh, Linda, Morgan, Phoenix, and Teresa. Because of their work, the campers were ready to take to the stage by the end of the week.

GRCVI proudly acknowledges the support of the Province of British Columbia. We would also like to thank our anonymous donors for their financial and in-kind donations, as well as our sponsors and community supporters! The Victoria College of Art, Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre, Long & McQuade, Burnside Gorge Community Association, and the Pretty Good Society.

Thank you from the Board of Directors,

Geraldine Bulosan, Rachelle Chamberlain and Melissa Edwards
